Introduction to Fuping Pottery Art Village and FLICAM
Fule International Ceramic Art Museums (FLICAM) is located in the Fuping Pottery Art Village (FPAV). It is composed of a main dome exhibition hall and two dragon type exhibition wings. It also consists of many ceramic museums for different countries or regions and many multi-functional facilities.
Ceramic artists from a country or a region are invited to Fuping and work there for two to four weeks, their work will contribute to the museum to be the initial collection of that museum. Simultaneously FLICAM will commit to build a ceramic museum for that country or region. It is hoped that all the work is made with local materials and facilities and reflects an artist’s China feeling. Through this process, FLICAM achieves its cultural exchange purpose.
The main museum hall and wings were built in 2004. Starting from 2005, we have built the French Museum, the Scandinavia Museum, the Australasia Museum, the USA Museum, and the Canadian Musem. Other museums such as the UK Museum, the Germany Museum, the Holland Museum, the Belgium Museum, and the Italy Museum are under construction and hope all will be completed by September 2008. We are also considering Asia, Eastern Europe Museums in 2009-2010.
